Before I share my experience with the Reconnection Gives Direction course I want to clarify the concepts of reconnection and direction. Reconnection is the act or result of restoring a connection, the state of being reconnected. Direction is the path followed, the way we are heading towards.
Prior to following the course, I was expecting an inner reconnection with myself, which would be the first step to know where to go. Since I have been very interested in personal development for several years, I was actually expecting to receive a kind of coaching. However, the method and result was beyond my expectations.
Let me first explain to you the content of the course. This mindset transformation programme is divided into five parts. In the first part, we establish a general overview and set our goals. Next, we clarify our relationship with ourselves, which gives us peace of mind and inner peace. In the third part, we improve our relationships with others. Afterwards, we integrate the changes we have made in the previous parts into our personality. Finally, in the last part, we establish a sustainable action plan, allowing us to maintain our goals in the future.
As you can see, this programme is very extensive. It also addresses several areas of life such as your friendships, family, hobbies, jobs and career or your health. AIMA coaching tools are a real asset in life, both on a personal and professional level.
Let me now tell you my experience. During the first morning, we had a class where we went deeper into new concepts. Afterwards, we had a series of individual exercises to complete in solitude. This allowed us to ask ourselves the right questions. After completing each exercise we talked with our teacher Kristiane, who guided us towards the right path when making the exercises.
Coaching happened indoors, in the living room, kitchen, common rooms but also outside in nature. We explored our preferences which was part of our inner exploration.
Moreover, we were a small group, which allowed Kristiane to really take the time to coach us properly and give us the best advice. It should also be noted that Kristiane supported us intensely throughout the coaching. Her presence was very reassuring and showed us whether or not something was the right direction to go. Without these precious recommendations, we would never have achieved such a good result with this course.
As far as I am concerned, this coaching has allowed me to understand myself better, to sort out certain problems from the past and to better understand my relationships with others. This has allowed me to find my balance in different areas of my life. In the future, I intend to use the AIMA method again since this method can be applied in so many situations and is for sure not a one time thing.
I would recommend this course to people who feel the need for inner change, conflict resolution, a desire for change, the reasons can be many. Nevertheless, the desire must come from within yourself and you must feel that something is not working properly in your life or at least not as you would like it.
Finally, I would like to thank the person without whom all this would not have happened: Professor Kristiane Ravn Frost, who was present, attentive and determined to help us as best she could. I also want to thank the person who translated these AIMA coaching tools into French, which was really helpful.
I end my testimonial with a quote from SENECA: “It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, It’s because we do not dare that they are difficult.”
